A photovoltaic manufacturer in Yangzhou produces high‑efficiency wafers, solar cells, and modules. The cell workshop is designed for 14 GW of total capacity. At current output, it uses about 3.8 million m³ of water per year. At full capacity, that figure rises to 6.8 million m³.
Production wastewater is discharged at a similar volume.

The plant

The wastewater treatment plant in Nantong went into service in 2015. It treats the combined effluent of printed circuit board manufacturers in the surrounding

industrial parks, with an initial capacity of 20,000 m³/d. Treated water met discharge limits and was released to the receiving water.

The plant
A photovoltaic manufacturer in Suqian, Jiangsu, produces solar cells. Production water is drawn at high purity from an on-site ultrapure water station. Production wastewater leaves the process at a similar volume.
